Summer Bird Walk at Turnbull Refuge
Join Marian Frobe for a walk around Pine Lakes looking for summer birds and seeing which young birds have survived the cold wet spring. We had such a good time on the May 31st Bird Walk, I thought we might try one in August. Most birds are not as vocal this time of year, so birding by ear is not as helpful as it is in spring, but we should still see and hear wonderful birds in mid-August Call or e-mail to reserve your place and for information.

Sponsored by the Inland Empire Water Garden & Koi Society, a variety of Koi and fancy Goldfish are entered by Koi and Goldfish owners in the Spokane and surrounding areas, from other parts of Washington, as well as Idaho and Oregon, in a competition with judging by high quality judges. Educational Seminars regarding the keeping of Koi & Goldfish, ponds, both water garden and ornamental fish - maintenance, set-up, and materials, the history of Koi, types and colors of Koi and fancy Goldfish are all included. Vendors are on site to help individuals with specific questions on products or problems the public may have with their own Koi, Goldfish, or ponds. The annual auction is an exciting part of the Show and the opportunity to see an amazing variety of sizes and colors of these "Brocaded Beauties" makes this a truly exciting event, not to be missed.
